Our response to the COVID-19 Pandemic
Release: 24 March 2020
As the COVID-19 crisis hits new levels with lock downs to certain parts of the economy and restrictions to non-essential travel, for the safety of our trainers, staff, students and the boating community, the Directors have made the decision to temporally suspend its New South Wales and Victorian Boat and PWC Licence courses, as well as its personalised training program onboard clients own vessels and our own training vessels.
Right now we are hard at work finalising our online learning system and webinar program so that we can continue reaching out to you during this unprecedented crisis. We want you to be super prepared for the 'better boating times' to come. Keep visiting our facebook page for webinar updates.
The following provisions are in place:
- Classroom learning limited to a maximum of 10 to allow for healthy distances to be maintained between people. Practical courses will be limited to 4-6 people plus the trainer.
- Everyone will be asked to thoroughly wash hands on entry and exiting the classroom and will have access to hand sanitiser.
- In addition, training vessels are thoroughly cleaned down after each practical course. Hand sanitiser, masks and wipes are available on board.
- If you are feeling unwell on the day of a course please call us. You will be able to postpone attendance to any future course date.
These provisions will likely remain in place even when restrictions start to relax again. Our company will continue to act in the best safety interests of anyone we have contact with and will make decisions based on recommended government health advice and Maritime Authority guidelines.
We will be keeping a course schedule published on our website so that you can continue to book on a course or purchase a voucher. Rest assured, you will be able to transfer your booking to any future dates.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact us at 1300 723 112.
We are getting ready for the upswing once life goes back to 'normal'. Keep visiting our facebook page for updates. Go to our blog The Chartroom to read our latest article - Sea the Good in Boating.
Stay well and we look forward to having you aboard soon.
