First aid training for seafarers

STCW Proficiency in Medical Care on Board


Must be 18 years or older and have a current STCW10 Certificate in Proficiency in Medical First Aid.
Duration: 5 days 8.30am - 4.30pm Timings may vary.
Group size
Small group personalised training. Minimum 6. Maximum 8
Delivery: Classroom trainer-led.
Ocean cruising and for meeting crew manning requirements for vessels 24 metres or over.
Approvals: STCW 10 A-VI/4-2 Proficiency in Medical Care on Board Ship


This course is intended for commercial seafarers who are designated to take charge of medical care onboard. It is also ideal training for cruising sailors.

  • NMC and MedAire reserve the right to cancel the course if insufficient enrolments have been received 7 days from commencement of the course. Any fees paid for cancelled courses will be refunded in full.
  • If making flight bookings in order to attend the course please ensure you book on a fully refundable basis.
