When you book on a course or program with the National Maritime College (NMC) or, use any of our services, we collect personal information from you which allows us to identify who you are. We respect this personal information and do our best to keep it safe and secure. Bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APP's) of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), we will not disclose any information which we gather for the purpose of providing training, identification  to any third party other than where it is required by law. The privacy principles are available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.aoic.gov.au.

Personal Information and Why We Collect It

Personal Information is information that identifies an individual. Examples of information we collect include names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, date of birth, marine insurance policy number, and car/boat licence numbers and expiry dates. This Personal Information is obtained in a variety of ways including be telephone, email, via our website maritime.college, from your bookings, enquiry forms, media and publications, from other publicly available sources or from cookies and from third parties. We do not guarantee website links or policies of authorised third parties
Personal Information is collected for the primary purpose of providing our services and information to our clients and marketing.

Establish and maintain client relationships. Provide the products and services as required by our clients. Administer and manage those products and services. Report to maritime authorities in relation to the training services provided.

The National Maritime College will not charge any fee for your access request but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information. In order to protect your Personal Information, we may require identification from your before releasing the requested information.
